Low-E glass, its full name is: Low Emission glass.

Low-E glass is manufactured based on clear float glass, similar with reflective glass, install special coating machines on float glass line to coat low-e film on glass by advanced technology. This low-e film has better performance than reflective film to reduce the energy loss.

Low-E glass has hard low-e and soft low-e two types.

For hard low-e glass, the low-e film is very hard, it is easy for processing, we can process hard low-e as what we do with float glass. Hard low-e glass can be used with single sheet, just like the float glass. The U value of clear float glass is 5.70, but the single hard low-e is 3.70.

For soft low-e glass, the low-e film is soft, its requirement for the processing machines is higher, we must use washing machine with soft brush, purified water.

Soft low-e glass can not be used singly, it must be processed into insulated glass within 24 hours to avoid oxidation, as the low-e film contains silver layer. For insulated glass with low-e glass, such as 6mm low-e +12AIR + 6mm clear glass, the U value can be 1.10, so the insulated glass has very good performance for saving energy, so these years the Low-e glass is more and more popular for building.

The usual thickness: 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm etc.

The usual standard sizes: 2140x3300mm, 2440x3300mm.
